My Approach

I am an integrative health practitioner and a holistic health & life coach.

I have been through a life crisis of my own: marriage breakdown and divorce, a number of (thankfully minor in my case) chronic health conditions and bad habits, a spiritual awakening, and redundancy.

All of these experiences and my training allow me to help my clients overcome their own physical, emotional and spiritual crises, and get themselves healthier than they’ve ever been.

Why do people get unwell?

Diseases do not afflict people at random. People are rarely, if ever, helpless victims of germs, genetics or bad luck.

Most people are unaware that the vast majority of ill-health – and especially chronic diseases – is the result of suboptimal lifestyle choices, toxic overload (physical and/or emotional) and/or nutritional deficit, which all promote imbalances in the body.

These imbalances build up until the body reaches its limit on what it can deal with. Once the limit has been breached, a specific ‘dis-ease’ of the body – the symptoms of which will be determined by the exact imbalance(s) that are present together with the person’s relevant genetic susceptibilities – will inevitably arise. This concept is called ‘The Rain Barrel Effect’, which you can read more about here.

Rather than take prescription medications that mostly aim simply to suppress the symptoms of the disease, without fixing the underlying causes, my belief as an integrative health practitioner is that people need to identify and address the underlying causes that are creating the imbalances that are in turn manifesting as disease.

Identifying the root cause(s) of your problems

As your health coach, I would help you to identify those root causes through:

  • Your detailed health history & our initial consultation
  • The results of all of the tests you have had done to date (e.g. blood tests by your family doctor)
  • The results of one or more functional medicine at-home lab tests that I would recommend to you, based on your specific symptoms
  • Whatever may come up during our ongoing life/health coaching sessions

Addressing your imbalances

Once we have a good idea of where you are at and what your imbalances might be, I will then co-create a customised wellness plan – based on my Holistic Reboot Protocol – with you that aims to rebalance the body, allowing it to move back into its natural state of health and wellness.

A better diet, nutrition and exercise plan is usually required, but will almost always not be sufficient for you to achieve optimal health. My holistic wellness plans also take into account the following:

  • Rest & sleep
  • Detoxification
  • Natural medicine
  • Stress management
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Your home/work environment
  • And (if/when you are ready) some form of spiritual practice.

Importantly, you need to be ready to take full responsibility for your own health and wellbeing. You need to be willing to make all of the simple yet often difficult changes you may need to make to your lifestyle in order for it to better align with your personal needs, desires and values.

But don’t worry – my job is to make this as easy as possible!
